GroupTalk for iOS 18 with Apples updated PTT framework

Apple released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 on September 16, 2024.

The main difference in the iOS 18 framework compared to iOS 17 framework is that the Dynamic Island has a new appearance and access more features, which the GroupTalk app now utilizes. Using the framework a group of individuals can communicate almost instantly with the press of a button in a standardized way defined by Apple.

Updated Push to Talk framework on iOS 18 from Apple

The framework on iOS 18 is power-efficient, user-friendly, and privacy-focused. It is a requirement by Apple that all PTT apps on iOS 18 use the framework. It is good news that Apple updated the framework for iOS18, it tells us that Apple wants to support Push to Talk users on iOS!

The Dynamic Island still indicates when a Push to Talk app is active, but has a new look. Check out our iOS 18 with GroupTalk video below, where we showcase the new look!
 
Furthermore the updated framework in combination with GroupTalk allows you to continue using bluetooth PTT buttons, bluetooth Remote Speaker Microphones (RSM) and bluetooth headsets for Push to Talk.
