Coordinating 12,500 football fans with GroupTalk

When over 12,500 football fans needed to be transported by 205 buses from Deventer to Rotterdam for the KNVB Cup Final, seamless event security communication and real-time coordination between all stakeholders was essential. Managing such a large football event required reliable and business critical group communication to keep fans safe and traffic under control.

Flash Private Mobile Networks, one of our partners, delivered GroupTalk in collaboration with their customer Vigilans Group – the Dutch security team responsible for operational coordination on site.

With GroupTalk’s Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) solution, guards, traffic coordinators, and operational leads communicated directly in shared talk groups in real time. The mobile Push-to-Talk app was used on buses, in the field, inside the stadium in Rotterdam, and in command vehicles, where GroupTalk PC Dispatcher provided full visibility of all teams and units.

As celebrations continued in Deventer, the PTT communication system was quickly scaled up to support more users. This allowed the same security team to continue their work without interruption – with expanded capacity and pre-configured devices for smooth operations.
